Please ask to come & see examples of my work, in person. Seeing real prints
and not just small versions on the web, and talking about the goals you
have in mind, can be a great way to clarify your specific goals and vision.

barefoot portraits— studio session, $200
Highly informal relationship photo sessions in Clark’s studio. Designed for two or more people together, but individuals (even pets) can be accommodated too. Originally exclusively in black & white, color is now an option. Includes the session and proofs, prints are additional. [examples]

simple’ non-commercial headshots — studio session, $125

Tightly cropped, playful assortment of portraits of an individual, intended to capture a fun variety of expressions, especially of children. Although not intended for commercial use, may be used as a commercial headshot. Black & White or color. Includes the session and proofs, prints are additional. [examples soon]

location portraits — location session, $200

Thoughtful, informal portrait at your home or work place, of an individual, or a group. Black & White or color. Includes the session and proofs, prints are additional. [examples]

house call’ portraits — location session, $200 (includes bonus sessions)

Spontaneous photo session at your home or school (or workplace, etc.) designed to produce several ‘day in the life’ type photographs, often of multiple subjects in multiple situations. Unscripted and spontaneous ‘grab bag’ approach may not be suitable if you have a particular goal in mind (see location portrait, above). Your first "House Call" session entitles you to two additional "House Call" sessions (at the same location) within the following 2 months for $75 each. Includes the session and proofs, prints are additional. [examples]

definitive/ interview portrait — location session, $300

A process that begins with several interviews that focus on what would be the most characteristic image of a particular person at this point in their life—and leads to a photograph built upon those discussions. Can be of a child or an adult, black & white or color. The $300 fee is a minimum, but usually covers most situations, and includes the proofs. Prints are additional. [examples]

out front’ portraits — location session, $200 ($75, except November/December)

Everyone ought to have a good picture with their family out in front of their home, at least every few years. Of course they should have other pictures too, but this “out in front of your house” portrait is a valuable one that's often overlooked, that's important for your family history. I'm offering these at a reduced rate ($75, except during my two busiest months, November & December) to those who read this and request this rate before the session. Includes the session and proofs, prints are additional. [examples]

restore old family photographs — $200

Produces images that, in most cases, look considerably better than the originals, using digital enhancement and high quality printing. The $200 fee is for restoring/enhancing three smaller images (5x7), or one larger image. Small proof prints are included, larger prints are additional. [examples soon]

learn digital photography — $200

Fun, non-technical, one-on-one accelerated learning that can advance you well beyond whatever level you are currently functioning in a very short time. Every person has different abilities and different goals, so the particular ‘focus’ will be based on a preliminary interview, followed by several customized, hands-on picture making (and printing) sessions at your home or Clark's, or both. No equipment purchases required (better to postpone purchases until after you’ve experienced the process). The goal is to boost your confidence, competence and enthusiasm about making the kind of photographs you want to make. Want to know more about how it would play out for your particular situation? Send me an email about where you stand now and what you think you’d like to accomplish—and we’ll talk about it.

personal ‘landscape’ portraits — $50

Conceived as another way to introduce my services, these sessions are intended to produce an esthetic record of your living space—not so much for insurance or legal purposes (though useful for that too) but for your personal history, and your memories—to serve the same function as a portrait of a person. Small paper proofs are included, prints are additional. A CD-ROM of the proofs is available for $10. [examples soon]

object portrait — $50 or more, depending

Makes a great gift to photograph a family heirloom as a record for the future. I have an unusual ceramic mug that I received many years ago while attending school in England, which I still use for hot tea nearly every day during the winter. The photo is part of my family scrapbook, and if the mug ever breaks or is lost I also have a wonderful photograph of it to help me remember it and tell its story when it’s gone. Sounds silly as I write it out like this, about a tea mug, but it’s true.
My parents recently gave me a pocket watch that’s been handed down in our family since before the Civil War. I plan to make a wonderfully detailed close-up portrait of this watch, then make some fairly large prints for my extended family members, framed with the story about the watch’s history. Maybe you have some favorite objects too. Proofs are included, prints additional. [examples soon]

hands portrait — $100

These are made with a large flatbed computer scanner that takes thirty to forty seconds to make a complete pass. Makes a surprisingly powerful and beautiful image. Proofs are included, prints additional. [examples]

Location fees assume 15 mile radius from West End Avenue.

Quoted fees are for personal use only. Images can be used for commercial uses for additional fees.

Gift Certificates are available for both sessions and prints.

You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where
it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities
and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them
with courage, faith, and hope.  -Thomas Merton

Sharing of ourselves and allowing others to do the same is ultimately our most valuable gift to each other.
